The Explosion Series: Exploding the Black Drawings

  This new series re-explores themes, ideas and personal influences that shaped works from the black drawings. Each work measures 12 inches by 24 inches and uses toner transfer printing and acrylics. To create these works I searched internet and other sources for photographic images that specifically connected with the poetic imagery of each drawing. I then printed and transferred them onto vellum. Using acrylics to smoothen the montage, I wove the augmented images into a visual narrative, retelling the story of how the drawings came about.
